CAN MARINE LE PEN BREAK THE JINX IN THE UPCOMING FRENCH PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS?

The elections in the United States may have come and gone but there is no doubt that the waves are still spiralling and resonating in various parts of the world.

This of course is not unexpected considering the role and place of the United States as a super power who expects that the world should shake whenever it sneezes.

In France, the heat has already been turned on as the nations have gradually started considering who is going to be calling the shots of its activities from the Elysee palace come 2017.

Withe the presidential election barely six months away, France is hoping to borrow a leaf or dare I say a branch from the just concluded presidential elections in the United States.

France's far-right leader and President of the National Front Party Party, Marine Le Pen is expected to make a particularly spectacular appearance.

This is not her first time of seeking the highest office in the land but it is rather coming at a time when the political development around the world has become interesting particularly for women.

Hillary Clinton, just yesterday, while conceding defeat to Mr. Donald Trump urged all women in the United States and the world over to take their political destinies into their own hands.

In many angles, this is seen as a morale booster to women around the world that they too can make it big not withstanding the odd.

At the moment, the odds may not seem to favour Marine Le Pen especially when one considers the fact that former President Nicholas Sarkozy is planning a come-back and this time very big one. Over the years, he has sailed off successfully with the record of defeating Le Pen and cutting short her Presidential ambitions.

On the other hand, France's incumbent president, Francois Hollande is yet undecided whether he is going to run for a second term in office or not. He believes if he has not been able to deliver on the promises of his first term particularly tackling unemployment, he might not have the face to ask voters for a second chance.

Any way, whatever happens in the following weeks to come in the run-up to France's presidential election will not only be interesting but definitely affected, inspired, motivated one way or the other by the outcome of the presidential elections in the United States this week.

While the world expects women to take on the Mrs. Clinton's advice, we eagerly wait to see how many more Angela Merkel's, Michel Bachelet's, Gloria Arroyo's, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's and a few more of their likes 21st century will produce.
